What a difference 12 days makes!

How is it the last post was 9th April; during that time John, the Carpenter, and his crew (Clive, Mitch Charlie and Adam) have been on site sometime starting before 8 and finishing at Dusk.

The ring beam for the floor completed, the joists installed, floor boards on (then removed and put into store) support pillars constructed, and the ring beam for the roof all installed, and the finale, they built the ramp for the accessible toilet. Wow.

All looking sooo good; this week is resting, and preparing the Reserve for our Open Day (26th April 2015, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, – plenty of volunteers on site today moving gravel to compact the ground in the build area, clearing the site, and generally tidying up so the REserve is at its very, very best for Open Day  (26th April 2015, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm … oh, sorry, I ve already said that.

photos of progress …. so much better than words!

Something to look at … with amazement!

The carpenters (John and Co!)  started on Tuesday; this Post is on the Thursday, and to quote (another)  John, ….

“John and Co will have completed the floor ring base and wall base by this evening and will be ready to put in the floor beams tomorrow.  ”
so we are well on target for Open Day (26th April, 10:00 am onwards) for Lord Selborne to “lay the first bale” at 1pm.
enjoy and admire the progress show in the pictures below, and thanks all ….

Milestone passed

The Milestone was completion of the Car Tyre Foundations; all the tyre towers are now completed for the build; and as you will see ground fabric has been laid, gravelled over (another 4 tons of gravel!) and the first delivery from Chelsea Timber Merchants … just a few bits of wood are on site! enough,  for the floor and the props that the roof will sit on.  Chippies start on Tuesday …. wow ….
